  • Must have a good sun source, with minimal shade
  • Need reliable equipment
  • Cost savings is long term
  • Red tape (zoning regulations, construction permits, utility grid connection applications and interconnection)
  • Look at energy usage conservation first; get rid of "wall warts"
  • May not be able to repair or service on your own (need trained technitions and electrians)
  • Effort required by owner to understand the system
  • Need incentives. net-metering, grants or feed in tariffs (FIT)
  • Customer needs to self evaluate their budget for the proper system desired
