- Buy quality,"listed" equipment. Electrical inspectors will not "pass" installations that are not "listed" nor do not pass electrical codes.
- Know what you are buying
- Install the system in an expert manner
- Maintain your system
- Be realistic about your expectations
- Do not fall for equipment and installers that promise low up front costs with unrealistic roi projections (return of investment).
- Choose a dealer/ installer carefully!!! You need to have an ongoing relationship with them for the life of your solar system. Look for NABCEP certification.
- Know your electrical kwhr load and energy cost.
- Downsize your electrical loads in your home, farm or facility
